Behaviorial Health Intervention Services

Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) is a one-on-one intensive service designed to minimize or eliminate the symptoms of a mental illness. Children and teens work with their provider to learn skills to manage their symptoms, such as:

  • Emotions management including anger, anxiety and depression
  • Communication and interaction skills including verbal and non-verbal communication and interacting with authority figures
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Improving and strengthening family relationships

The BHIS Specialists with Advanced Therapy Solutions all have a minimum of a four-year degree in a related field including Psychology, Social Work and Human Services. A number of providers have, or are, pursuing a graduate degree in Psychology and Social Work. We schedule services in partnership with the family, working around other appointments and school schedules.

Unique in the field, the BHIS Team at ATS works under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed mental health professional, Maggie Dornfeld, LMSW, who is also the service coordinator. The team meets together to discuss the progress and barriers for each client at least monthly.
